To start off the day today I woke up just before lunch time (at 12ish). After having such a long night it was nice to sleep in and catch up on my sleep, I think I am fairly adjusted finally to the time zone change. For lunch we had a special guest, Ciccio's grandfather, and we ate spaghetti then breaded swordfish. While it wasn't bad, I didn't love it either. It was just ok. Today I also had the chance to skype with my parents for about 10 minutes, it was nice to hear from them of course. This afternoon we drove downtown to Marco's house and the four of us walked around downtown Catania for the rest of the afternoon. We didn't really do much but look at a few shops and see one of the only parks downtown. I also learned the CDs are still a big thing here as Ciccio and Marco both have a collection of CDs. So one of the shops we went to was a CD shop and they both bought several CDs. While I don't really buy CDs, I thought they were kind of expensive at 11 euros each but maybe I'm just uneducated in the going price of Trending music.
The park that they took us too was very...vertical I guess. As in the park went uphill a lot and from the street all you would do is walk up stairs and more stairs. There was a field with a playground but even then it had the option of going up more steps to another viewing or sitting area. A little different from the parks in Phoenix. Afterward we went home for an hour or so before leaving to go to another, less formal, birthday party (I would later find out it's a birthday/going away party as she is leaving to live in Vancouver for 6 months). It wasn't nearly as big or as fancy as the one last night, but it still had a DJ and good and still quite a bit more people than the amount American birthday parties have. Well that pretty much sums up the entire day and uses all the pictures I took. While traveling on Ciccio's motorcycle there were some great views of the ocean and city as he lives up on the side of a mountain sort of, but I couldn't really take the picture while he drove so maybe some other time.
