I can't believe it's already a week into the trip! The days have gone by so slowly (in a good way) yet the trip is already 1/3Rd of the way over with! Today was another laid back day. We had rice and pumpkin for lunch, which was really weird but I thought it tasted pretty good. I'm also beginning to like the very strong coffee that they serve after lunch. In the afternoon Ciccio and I bonded over common ground for teenagers everywhere. Video games. We played some police mystery game that I've never heard of before but it was pretty fun! At 5 we went downtown again with Marco and Mack and one of Marco's friends Simon, I think. They took us to the elephant statue in duomo square.
Then we toured the cathedral that was right there. It wasn't a very complex cathedral, or at least the part we walked wasn't. It was simply the center column with two sides that were basically identical (shown below).
After that, Ciccio and Simon ended up dissapearing for a little bit (later to be found getting some food from a bakery that was a decent walk away from the duomo square). Once they had to leave Ciccio and I went to go meet two of his other friends at a sushi bar for dinner. I was very skeptical as I don't like fish. However, once we sat down and the first few plates of food came on the conveyor belt I tried them and ended up liking them both, which slightly surprised me even though Neither of them were fish. Finally the sushi started to come out and I had a few rolls of each of the four types to come out. I ended up liking 2 of them although I don't know the names but nonetheless I learned I like some sushi.
(Notice mom that I didn't take the selfie this time, your welcome 😁) After dinner we went to a street amusement park. It was pretty small but we still went on two or the rides and walked around it which was fun. I don't have any pictures of that though because the whole "remembering to take pictures of everything" is a hard concept to grasp when your mother isn't there to do that for you. Anyway it's pretty late here again, and I have to wake up early tomorrow for a special occasion (I won't spoil tomorrow's blog). Anyway, that's all for the first week!
